Optima Design Automation
Optima-DA is on the forefront of modern semiconductor verification, producing next-generation solutions for rigorous automotive electronic development environments.
The automotive industry is experiencing a major revolution. The modern vehicle contains a myriad of complex electronic systems that touch every part of the driving experience. Every one of these systems must be proven fail safe. The ISO 26262 automotive electronic safety standard specifies rigorous verification requirements driving extreme complexity into automotive device development, which will only become worse as we move to an era of driver-less vehicles. Although meeting this standard is mandatory, to date, verification tools have not kept up with its stringent requirements. This is about to change.
Founded in 2014, Optima-DA has produced revolutionary, ultra high-performance fault simulation technology, key to verifying that devices meet the ISO 26262 random fault requirements. The company has leveraged this technology in a number of critical solutions for automotive device verification, covering a broad range of issues that must be validated in these devices.
Optima is the technology leader in performance simulation technology, capable of performing fault-simulations several orders of magnitude faster than regular Register Transfer Level (RTL) and Gate Level simulation tools for various Functional Safety applications. The company’s early solutions based on this technology include:
- Optima-SE: Selective hardening solution for resolving soft-errors (transient-faults) and achieving the ISO 26262 level ASIL-B, ASIL-C or ASIL-D with minimal engineering andsilicon costs.
- Optima-HE: coverage measurement and boosting, designed for ISO-26262 compliance and development of STLs.
Optima’s solutions are already in use at leading automotive semiconductor companies, and areeasily integrated with standard IC design flows.
